Creating Parts

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the Product section, click Part.
    Result: The Parts window is displayed.
  4. Click Action >Add.
    Result: The Part entry window is displayed.
  1. Enter the code for and name of the new part.
  2. Enter the Part Revision.
  3. Enter the Commodity Code. Commodity codes are standard classification codes for products and services used to detail where money is spent within a company.
  4. Enter or zoom to select the product line associated with the part.
  5. Select the UOM Code (Unit of Measurement).
  6. Click the drop down button and select the Part Risk Level. Part Risk Levels are used to specify the ranking of the risk associated with each part. The higher the risk, the more the part may negatively impact supply chain resiliency. For additional information on configuration, see Part Risk Levels.
  7. Enter the cost per unit for the part.
  8. Click the drop down button and select the type of part, such as Finished Product. For additional information on configuration, see Part Types.
  9. Enter a description of the part.
  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The new part has been added and the Detail of the part is displayed.
